MEM offers development support to 290 MW of Asian wind, solar schemes

Thai project management and engineering firm Modern Energy Management Co Ltd (MEM) said today it will be providing development support for wind and solar projects in Southeast Asia totalling 290 MW.

More specifically, the company will serve as a technical and commercial advisor on a 150-MW hybrid wind and solar project in the Philippines and will also offer early stage development advisory on a 140-MW wind scheme in Thailand.

For the Philippine project, MEM will advise on optimising site layout in order to maximise the hybrid plant’s energy yield and financial performance, and, at the same time, minimise its environmental impact on the surrounding area. The firm will also monitor and manage the solar portion of the installation as well as wind measurements.

In Thailand, MEM will assist in the delivery of a meteorological mast campaign to conduct early-stage resource assessment, and will co-ordinate with the sponsor to optimise site layout. It will also support the acquisition of additional land in line with Energy Regulatory Commission requirements.

“Our technical and commercial advisory teams have a wealth of experience in both the Philippine and Thai markets and MEM’s work on each of these projects will add considerable value to our clients’ portfolios,” said Kyle Katoski, Head of Project Origination at MEM.
